Spanish actress Lola Dueñas will be honoured with the prestigious FRED AWARD, presented by FRED Film Radio, the renowned international radio broadcaster and official partner of the Venice International Film Festival. Lola Dueñas, among the cast of the film “Sobre todo de noche“ by Víctor Iriarte, competing in the Giornate degli Autori, will receive this recognition for her exceptional cinematic career.
The FRED AWARD is a special accolade reserved for actors, directors, and professionals in the film industry who promote independent cinema and intercultural dialogue. Led by Federico Spoletti, the founder of the radio station, FRED Film Radio aims to spread the passion for independent cinema across various languages and cultures, providing a unique platform for participation in film festivals.
Among the actors and directors previously honoured with the FRED AWARD are esteemed names from the film industry, such as Joaquim Lafosse, Pablo Larrain, Willem Dafoe, Jasmine Trinca, Haifaa Al Mansour, Alba Rohrwacher, Matt Dillon, Alessandro Borghi, Céline Sciamma, and Tessa Thompson.

Celebrated for her exceptional versatility and talent, Lola Dueñas is one of the most renowned Spanish actresses of her generation, having appeared in a series of memorable films throughout her career.
She has performed in “Volver” (2006), “La mala educación” (2004), “Los abrazos rotos” (2009), and “Julieta” (2016) by Pedro Almodóvar, collaborating with directors like Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Alejandro Amenábar, Lucrecia Martel, Éric Toledano, and Olivier Nakache.
