Tala Hadid – Filmmaker – The Narrow Frame of Midnight
FRED’s Matt Micucci meets filmmaker Tala Hadid, who is presenting her feature THE NARROW FRAME OF MIDNIGHT on the Journey section of the 58th BFI London Film Festival. Tala Hadid talks with us about how she successfully made her film an interactive experience, by paying particular attention to the rhythm of the film. She also tells us about how she worked with the actors and what challenges she encountered to bring her film to the screen.
THE NARROW FRAME OF MIDNIGHT is a dizzying and haunting journey that sweeps viewers across Morocco’s spectacular Atlas mountains to Istanbul, the plains of Kurdistan and beyond. Within these settings, the lives of a number of characters – particularly a young orphan child, a writer searching for his brother and a teacher with whom she had an affair – cross and hurdle into each other both literally and metaphysically.
