PODCAST | Matt Micucci interviews Song Yang, actor of the film Two/One.
A conversation with Chinese actor Song Yang, who plays one of the two lead characters of Two/One, the debut feature by Juan Cabral, featured in the International Competition of the 2019 International Film Festival and Awards Macao. Song Yang introduces the character that he plays in this movie and tells us a little about how he connected with him. He also shares with us his opinion on whether we live in a lonely world where it is harder to connect with people, as well as whether he dreams a lot – both questions inspired by two of the main themes of Two/One. The actor also talks a bit about overcoming the language barrier in working on this film and reveals that he even learned to play the drums in preparation for it.
Two/One: Kaden is a world-class ski jumper in Whistler, Canada, unexpectedly presented with the chance of reconnecting with his teenage sweetheart. Khai is a corporate executive in Shanghai, China, faced with the fact that the girl he fantasises about on the internet has just started working in his office. The two men go about their lives, without knowing that they are connected. When one sleeps, the other is awake. They dream each other. They are, in some strange way, the same person. They should never meet, but they are destined to do so.
