Roel Nollet – Filmmaker – Free as a Bird

FRED’s Matt Micucci meets filmmaker Roel Nollet, whose film “Nathan – Free as a Bird”, which was presented at IDFA 2014. He tells us how the initial plans for a success story about a sex change changed abruptly, what his immediate response as a filmmaker and human being was and what he thinks the final message for Nathan really wanting to share his story with the world was.

“Nathan – Free as a Bird” is the remarkable story of a 44-year-old man who chose euthanasia after a life full of misery and a series of failed sex-change operations.
