A conversation with film director Richie Mehta, member of the short film competition jury of the 2019 International Film Festival and Awards Macao. Mehta shares with us his thoughts on the importance on short filmmaking and its potential for unhinged expression. He also shares with us the story of how his 2007 feature debut Amal began its journey as a short, and how his background in journalism influences his filmmaking as a whole. During the course of this interview, Mehta also praises the good work done by IFFAM and its team, as well as his latest work, Dehli Crime, which premiered on Netflix earlier this year and that he defines as “a massive independent film.”
