PODCAST | Lana Mihailovic interviews filmmaker Peter Webber from the 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival.
During the 11th Sarajevo Talents, young filmmakers had the chance to meet and speak with film industry professionals, usually in a form of a masterclass. One of these was held by the director Peter Webber and screenwriter Olivia Hetreed. More than 10 years after working together, these two meet again to talk to Sarajevo Talents Directors and share the experiences from their careers. Thanks to that occasion, FRED Film Radio had a chance to speak to Webber, director of such films as Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003), Hannibal: Rising (2007) and the mini-series Tutankhamun (2016). While commenting on his interaction with young filmmakers, he pointed out that one of the things he likes to do is to break any sort of illusions that they may have about their chosen careers, before it happens in a much more painful way. We also touched the subject of his first Spanish speaking film, Carteristas, which is the second collaboration with Hetreed and is a story of a pickpocketer and is set in the city of Bogota, Columbia.
Interview by Lana Mihailovic, one of the members of Talents Press at the 11th Talents Sarajevo.
