Peter Lichter, Bori Maté - The Philosophy Of Horror #TFF38 fredfilmradio
PODCAST | Angelo Acerbi interviews Peter Lichter and Bori Maté, directors of the film The Philosophy Of Horror.
Peter Lichter and Bori Maté are interested in the theoretical analysis , and they love horror films. So, why not putting the two things together? They used a book as a literary base and they started their own travel within images and sounds of a genre, decomposing it into concepts and qualifications. An interesting approach, as you can hear in this talk.
The Philosophy Of Horror: The film is an abstract and visual adaptation of Noël Carroll’s book with the same title published in 1990, which proposes a careful examination of the film genre. Péter Lichter and Bori Máté use the decayed, hand-painted 35mm film of the classic horror movie A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and of the sequel A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy’s Revenge (1985) to propose a reflection on horror through an experimental audiovisual product.
