“Conversation with” at the 20th Marrakech IFF, interview with actor Willem Dafoe Bénédicte Prot
PODCAST| Matt Micucci interviews Peter Jaeger, CEO of Jaeger Creative.
An interview with Peter Jaeger, CEO of Jaeger Creative, who was a tutor at the 2018 East Doc Platform and hosted an open lecture titled “Working with Sales Agents in 2018 – What Has Changed and What You Need to Know.” The interview was conducted at Prague’s Cervantes Institute. Given his extensive background in the field, we take the opportunity to ask him to explain what it is that film sales agents do – or, as he calls them, “the invisibles.” Jaeger is now a consultant for the distribution and financing of film projects, and tells us that mistakes can very easily be made. For instance, they are often made during the financing stages of the film. We also ask him what how he thinks the developments in distribution and accessibility have shaped the film landscape and more.
Peter Jaeger studied a law and philosophy. He started as a film journalist and then became Sales & Marketing Director for a Filmagazine. As Marketing & Acquisitions Director for Benelux theatrical distributors, he handled over 100 films like Mulholland Drive, The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. In 2004 Peter moved to Vienna and founded Autlook Filmsales GmbH, becoming CEO till 2014. Today he is a silent partner of Autlook, a jury member of the Flemish Film Fund & Vienna Film Fund, a distribution & marketing tutor/lecturer and is also creating a new initiative: Jaeger Creative.
