Actors Octavia Spencer and Richard Jenkins stopped by FRED’s studio at the 74th Venice International Film Festival to talk about their work on Guillermo Del Toro’s latest film, The Shape of Water, presented in the festival’s competition. Among the topics discussed, Spencer tells us about the experience of working with a filmmaker she has been a fan of for a long time, while Jenkins reveals to us that he did not know he was going to be the film’s narrator until later in the production.
The Shape of Water:The Shape of Water is an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa is trapped in a life of isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda discover a secret classified experiment.
The complete trilogy by Norwegian director Dag Johan Haugerud composed by Sex (2024), Love (2024) and Dreams (2025) will be presented at the Blzano Film Festival before landing in Italian cinemas
