PODCAST | David Martos interviews Niclas Bendixen, director of the film Ditte & Louise.
The director of Ditte & Louse, Niclas Bendixen, talks to FRED two weeks before the 32nd European Film Awards gala. His film in nominated to Best European Comedy, and we ask him about the lack of work for mature actresses (the main topic of the movie). The filmmaker gives us his opinion on The favourite and Tel Aviv on fire, the two other contenders for the prize.
Ditte & Louise: Ditte and Louise are two middle-aged actresses who realize that the only thing the industry has to offer is roles of mothers or grandmothers. That’s why Ditte takes a radical decision: she dresses up like a man. And all of a sudden, the world is upside down! Contrary to expectations, Ditte succeeds as Ditlev. She suddenly gets lead roles. She gets tons of attention.
