Nathan Silver – Director – Uncertain Terms
FRED meets up with filmmaker Nathan Silver to talk about his latest work UNCERTAIN TERMS, presented at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2014.
Young lives in turmoil in a film of inspired spontaneity Director Nathan Silver (Exit Elena, EIFF 2012) returns with another incisive, off-balance, semi-improvised account of Americans in search of redemption. At a rural halfway house for pregnant teenagers, new resident Nina (India Menuez) gradually becomes disaffected from her unemployed boyfriend while finding herself drawn to the home’s temporary handyman, a strong, silent type whose marriage is collapsing. Beautifully observed and fiercely idiosyncratic, Uncertain Terms confirms Silver’s growing status as a trailblazer of the new independent American cinema.
