Trieste è al centro del mondo del cinema breve dal 28 giugno al 6 luglio 2024 per la 25° edizione dello ShorTS International Film Festival.

La manifestazione cinematografica dedicata al cinema breve, diretta da Maurizio di Rienzo, si svolgerà presso il Giardino Pubblico Muzio de Tommasini, il Teatro Miela e la Sala Xenia e proporrà 117 opere distribuite nelle 7 sezioni di Concorso.

La storica Maremetraggio con 45 corti da 43 Paesi; ShorTS Express con 23; Eco-ShorTS e Italia in ShorTS con 11 ciascuna; 20 i corti per la binaria Shorter Kids’n’Teens con selezionatori e giurati tra gli 8 e i 15 anni; 7 le storie di ShorTS Immersive da esplorare con specifici visori personalizzati, sono poi 3 i cortometraggio-evento fuori concorso.

Maurizio Di Rienzo sottolinea che il cinema breve è la prima forma di film nata 130 anni fa e che “rimane un bacino di creatività produttività e distribuzione nel mondo molto interessante”.

Tra gli ospiti della manifestazione che si dedicheranno al pubblico con incontri e masterclass, fiore all’occhiello di ShorTS: Premio Cinema dell’Anima all’animatore poetico Simone Massi, Cinema del Presente a Damiano e Fabio D’Innocenzo, il Premio Prospettiva a Carlotta Gamba; Interpreti del Presente Isabella Ragonese e Michele Riondino. Ritorna la sezione Campolungo che guarda al crescente percorso di Laura Samani fra cortometraggio e film.
