Plot

Seventeenth century, Choseon dynasty. King Gwanghae suspects that someone within the court wants to poison him, and therefore orders his adviser Heo Gyun to find a double who can replace him on the throne. The choice falls on a court jester who strongly resembles the king and is capable of imitating his gestures and voice. The man takes the king's place, but slowly, his personality begins to take over, and the court starts to suspect: the king is strangely more human and understanding than he has ever been. Meanwhile, Gwanghae's enemies begin to establish their next moves...
