FRED’s Matt Micucci interviews Marit van den Elshout, in preperation for a new intense and riveting edition of the CineMart. We talk with her about the history of the market at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, which in this edition of the festival reaches its 32nd year. We also talk the identity of this co-production market, which was originally the first of its kind, and what it offers filmmakers and industry representatives. We talk about the selection process and the award that the titles selected qualify for.
The first co-production market of its kind, CineMart offers filmmakers the opportunity to launch their ideas to the international film industry and to find the right connections to get their projects financed. Launching about 25 new projects in need of additional financing each year, CineMart also heralds an important start of the ‘film year’. The 32nd edition of CineMart will take place from 25 January till 28 January 2015.
