PODCAST | Chiara Nicoletti interviews Małgorzata Janczak, Founder and Head of Connect the Dots Film Agency.
When she founded her company Connect the Dots in Poland, Małgorzata Janczak had a mission: to help filmmakers and producers to build their brand, to communicate their film, to present their work to the world in the best way possible. At the First Cut+, Janczak is one of the experts who will hold a masterclass for the participants (8 films) and will give an award, the first for Connect the Dots, which will allow the winner to have the company by their side to better create their film strategy.
Małgorzata Janczak, born and raised in Warsaw, began her adventure with film over 15 years at Film Polski where she worked as a promotion consultant for student films, shorts and first features. In 2007 she went on to work as main promotion specialist in the International Cooperation department of the Polish Film Institute. From 2012 on she worked on international film promotion, creative production and brand building as a freelancer with such directors as Agnieszka Smoczyńska, Krzysztof Skonieczny, Daria Woszek and Raul de la Fuente. All projects she has shepherded have achieved international success and were invited to top-tier film festivals, including Cannes, Berlinale, Sundance, Montreal and Toronto to name a few. In 2018 she set up her own shop called Connect the Dots Film Agency where she acts as film pr manager, publicist and brand manager for up and coming film directors. This year’s projects worked on by Connect the Dots include Curator by Petr Levchenko (Warsaw Film Festival) and Naked Coast by Michał Krzywicki (European Genre Forum – Black Nights Tallin FF).
