Diretti da Felix van Groeningen e Charlotte Vandermeersch, il duo storico di Non essere cattivo, Alessandro Borghi e Luca Marinelli, torna insieme per una storia di affinità elettiva che trascende amore fraterno e passionale: Le Otto Montagne, in concorso al 75esimo Festival di Cannes. Girato in Val D’Aosta, il film è tratto dall’omonimo romanzo di Paolo Cognetti. Storia di un ragazzo di città e uno di montagna, legati, da infanzia ed età adulta, da un’amicizia che perdura nel tempo ed ha la sincerità e la schiettezza del silenzio delle 8 montagne che li circondano.

Le Otto Montagne: “Le otto montagne” racconta la storia di un’amicizia. Un’amicizia nata tra due bambini che, divenuti uomini, cercano di prendere le distanze dalla strada intrapresa dai loro padri ma, per le vicissitudini e le scelte che si trovano ad affrontare, finiscono sempre per tornare sulla via di casa. Pietro è un ragazzino di città, Bruno è l’ultimo bambino di uno sperduto villaggio di montagna. Negli anni, Bruno rimane fedele alle sue montagne, mentre Pietro è quello che va e viene. Il loro incontro li porterà a sperimentare l’amore e la perdita, riconducendo ciascuno alle proprie origini e facendo sì che i loro destini si compiano, mentre i due scopriranno cosa significa essere amici per sempre.
