PODCAST | Chiara Nicoletti intervista Louis Garrel, regista e attore del film L’uomo fedele.

Non è un film sentimentale come Due Amici, il suo precedente film da regista, ma, Louis Garrel sottolinea che L’uomo fedele è un film che vuole essere profondamente francese nel suo ispirarsi a François Truffaut ed alla Nouvelle Vague ma che si lascia contaminare da un umorismo alla Woody Allen con un protagonista, lo stesso Garrel che strizza l’occhio a Buster Keaton. Louis Garrel racconta la genesi del suo film e soprattutto descrive le donne nel suo film: coloro che hanno il potere, dominano il suo protagonista e la storia tutta. Data la recente scomparsa di Bernardo Bertolucci, Louis Garrel poi si lascia andare ai ricordi dal set di The Dreamers e l’incontro con il maestro.

L’uomo fedele: Marianne e Abel si amano e vivono insieme, almeno fino a quando Marianne non lascia Abel perché aspetta un figlio da Paul, il miglior amico di Abel. Marianne lo sposerà presto e lui deve andarsene, in fretta. Abel non oppone resistenza e se ne va come fosse niente ma non è niente. Nove anni dopo, il cuore di Paul si ferma. Abel e Marianne si rivedono al funerale. Gli ex amanti si riavvicinano ma Eve, sorella di Paul, uscita dall’adolescenza e innamorata da sempre dell’amico del fratello, vuole Abel e dichiara guerra a Marianne. A complicare tutto poi c’è Joseph, figlio di Marianne e Paul, appassionato di enigmi polizieschi e convinto che la madre abbia avvelenato il padre.
