Kaveh Daneshmand – Artistic Director – Festival of Iranian Films, Prague
FRED’s Matt Micucci meets Kaveh Daneshmand, artistic director of the 4th edition of the Festival of Iranian Films in Prague, Czech Republic. This year, the festival centered its program around the theme of “rebels of Iranian cinema”, and aimed to show a variety of Iranian cinema full of ambitious whether in exploring daring themes or in being aware of cinema and taking risks in their form of filmmaking.
Kaveh tells us more about the chosen theme, and tells us a little bit more about some of the titles that were presented in the program. He also tells us about his opinions on the issues with censorship and how it affects filmmaking from Iran and gives us a clear sign that this festival is only destined to grow with its future editions.
