Julien Dorgere, musician and director of Super8 Shots Film Festival.
Director of Super8 Shots film festival Julien Dorgere talks about this year’s edition of the festival, his own passion for Super8 and the importance of archive footage.
Julien Dorgere is a French Super8 filmmaker and musician based in Ireland since 2001. He has been working on 8mm film and music collaborations with Donal Dineen, Vivienne Dick and Mike Smalle for the last number of years with shows and exhibitions throughout Ireland (incl. Electric Picnic and Fresh Air Festival). Julien has both performed and showed work as Mr Weasel at the Galway Arts Festival, DEAF, Tulca Visual Arts Festival, Artisit! and Electric Picnic. Julien is also the founder of Super8Ireland.com, a site dedicated to 8mm film making and of the Super8 Shots Film Festival, which first took place in 2005.
