Johanna Hamilton – Filmmaker – 1971
FRED’s Matt Micucci meets Johanna Hamilton, whose documentary “1971” was screened at IDFA 2014. Johanna tells us about how she got access to information about the FBI break-in, as well as getting the heroic perpetrators to reveal their identity on camera for the very first time. She also tells us about her use or re-enactments and why she believes this story is very relevant to modern times.
“1971” was the year in which information about illegal surveillance came to light after a break-in at an FBI office. The perpetrators were never caught, but now for the first time in this film they open up to the camera and tell their story.
