“Conversation with” at the 20th Marrakech IFF, interview with actor Willem Dafoe Bénédicte Prot
PODCAST | Matt Micucci interviews Guido Hendrikx, director of the film A Man and a Camera.
A conversation with Guido Hendrikx, director of A Man and a Camera, screening at CPH:DOX this year. This is a provocative film with an original concept that sees the filmmaker himself showing up at people’s doorsteps, quietly pointing a camera at them and documenting their varied and sometimes surprising reactions. Hendrix talks with us about whether he sees this film as a provocation, what debates he believes this film will inspire and more.
A Man and a Camera is exactly what the title says it is. We are in a small village. A man walks around with a video camera. We only see the things – and the people! – that he films silently, right inside people’s own homes.
