PODCAST| Angelo Acerbi interviews Georgina Chryskioti, actress of the film Pity.
We talked with one of the characters of Pity, an impressive Greek film about a man whose life is happier when he is miserable. So he works to keep it this way, with extreme consequences. Georgina Chryskioti is the neighbour of the lead character, the only positive and clear link he has with real life. Despite the theme and the darkness of the film, the set was fun and it helped keeping the subtle and constant irony of it all.
Pity: A man of about forty-five, the Lawyer, lives with his teenage son in a well-off home. He is healthy, with a pleasing face, good manners and is generally well maintained. His hair is perfectly cut and groomed. His wife, however, has been in a coma and has been in a private hospital for some time following an accident. The sadness caused by this event has become the Lawyer’s main and most vital element of life, giving him a sense of pleasure that becomes an addiction. His grief has also suddenly made everybody have compassion towards him. His life has never been better. Then, one day, something happens and changes his recently established everyday life of pity.
