A conversation with Fionnuala Halligan, reviews editor and chief film critic at Screen International, and programming consultant at the International Film Festival and Awards Macao. This interview was recorded during the festival’s fourth edition. Halligan talks about IFFAM, and what factors that influence its programming choices. She also shares with us some of the titles she selected for this year’s international programme. As well as that, Halligan talks about Stars of Tomorrow, the talent showcase she curates for Screen International, which spotlights the hottest upcoming actors and filmmakers from the UK and Ireland. She also talks about how she became interested in film and shares with us her thoughts on the current state of film criticism.
