il 37° Torino Film Festival svela il suo programma pieno di fermento creativo. Il direttore artistico Emanuela Martini ne commenta il suo carattere horror grazie alla retrospettiva, ad After Hours ed all’omaggio a Barbara Steele, ma sottolinea che il messaggio dark proviene dallo sguardo di questa grande attrice dal manifesto ufficiale di questa edizione. Caratteristica comune che unisce la maggior parte dei giovani registi, italiani e internazionali è la voglia di tornare al genere, che sia western, sci-fi, horror.

Tra i 149 lungometraggi, un italiano in concorso, l’opera seconda di Antonio Padovan, Il Grande Passo, che, dopo l’esordio con Finchè c’è prosecco c’è speranza, ha avuto la brillante idea di scegliere come protagonisti Giuseppe Battiston e Stefano Fresi e renderli fratelli. Tra le opere prime, Now is everything di Riccardo Spinotti, figlio di Dante che debutta alla regia con un film totalmente americano per produzione e attori. Tra le cose di cui è più orgogliosa, Emanuela Martini sottolinea la personale dedicata a Teona Strugar Mitevska, regista di Dio è donna, Il suo nome è Petrunya, inaspettatamente non premiata alla scorsa Berlinale.
