PODCAST | Cristiana Palmieri interviews Elysia Zeccola, director of the Italian Film Festival.
Festival director Elysia Zeccola talks about the challenging time for the arts and entertainment industries, and how going back to see films on the big screen symbolises going back to some forms of normality. Despite the uncertain circumstances related to the lockdown in major Australian cities, the Italian Film Festivals offers a remarkable program, including big titles such as A Chiara by Jonas Carpignano, winner of the Director’s Fortnight in Cannes.
The festival opened nationally on October 20th with the Australian premiere of Daniele Luchetti’s Lacci, which opened last year’s Venice Film Festival, and closes on December 12th with Roberto Rosselini’s Roma citta’ aperta, recently restored by Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna.
