Robert Finster and Ella Rumpf are the protagonists of Freud, the new Netflix series on famous doctor Sigmund Freud, which has been presented at the 70th Berlinale in the Berlinale series section. The actors describe their facing all the history and stereotypes behind Doctor Freud’s figure and comment on their characters’ first encounter as the moment in which the series take its dark turn.
Freud: In 1886 Vienna, the revolutionary theories of young Sigmund Freud (Robert Finster) face heavy opposition – and gain the interest of famous psychic medium Fleur Salomé (Ella Rumpf) and Alfred Kiss (Georg Friedrich), war veteran and police officer. With them at his side, Freud soon finds himself in the midst of a murderous conspiracy that kept Austria in suspense.
