PODCAST | Cristiana Palmieri interviews Eddie Tamir, artistic director of the Jewish International Film Festival.
Artistic director Eddie Tamir unpacks the program, talking about the opening night and the closing night films and everything else in between. This year the program has a strong focus on heroes of change, including Sigmund Freud, Simone Veil, Helmut Newton, and many more. It’s an extraordinary arts-themed cinema on the big screen: prominent Jewish writers, Amos Oz and Saul Bellow, are profiled in two warts-and-all documentaries, alongside two very different musical superstars: Tiny Tim and Leonard Cohen.
The Jewish International Film Festival opened nationally on March 2nd and runs until April 3rd in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, and for the first time also in Surfers Paradise. The program includes 55 premiere films from 20 countries, alongside a program of live music, comedy, cabaret and theatre.
