"The Heart is A Muscle" is a South-African film in the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival. Directed by Imran Hamdulay is a sensible and dramatic take on masculinity and its limitation, narrated through a man who is trying to do his best for his family. Not a trite story, but and interesting and intelligent analysis helped by a powerhouse performance by Keenan Arrison.
"Hysteria" by Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay is a thriller with its rules and mechanism, dealing with unconventional issues, for the genre: vulnerability, xenophobia, racism and fear of strangers. A very tense film rooted in real facts, therefore very effective.
