PODCAST | Matt Micucci interviews Carlos Ignacio Trioni Bellone and Santiago Sgarlatta, directors of the film The Hypocrites.
An interview with filmmakers Carlos Ignacio Trioni Bellone and Santiago Sgarlatta, whose film, The Hypocrites, had its international premiere in the International Panorama section of the 2019 Cairo International Film Festival. In this interview, they reveal to us that their movie was partly inspired by their very own experience of working as wedding videographers. They also share their thoughts on several of the themes of the movie, including class systems and, of course, hypocrisy. They also talk about some of the challenges they faced while making The Hypocrites, which also happens to be their first feature.
The Hypocrites: Nicholas, a young photographer. In the middle of a high-profile wedding, he accidentally records a serious situation. He realizes that he can use the content of the tape to blackmail the people involved. However, he doesn’t know to what extent this secret could endanger his life.
