After presenting it at the Festival de Cannes, out of competition, Ari Folman is in Italy to present Where is Anna Frank, his new film rediscovering the story of Frank, seen through the eyes of her imaginary friend, Kitty. The film will be released in Italian cinemas by Lucky Red on September 29th and it uses a fable-like language to address the younger audience and dialogue with the contemporary world.

Kitty, the imaginary girl to whom Anne Frank wrote her famous diary, comes to life in the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. Her memories reawakened by reading the diary, believing that if she’s alive, Anne must be alive as well, she sets out on a quest to find Anne. We follow Kitty as she travels across Europe and back to Anne Frank’s time, armed with the precious book, in search of her beloved friend…
For the first time in its history, the Cannes Film Festival reveals two official posters for its 78th edition, inspired by Claude Lelouch’s 1966 Palme d’Or-winning masterpiece A Man and a Woman.
Alice Rohrwacher has been appointed President of the Caméra d’or Jury at Cannes 2025. Known for her poetic and visionary cinema, Rohrwacher will award the best first feature at the festival’s closing ceremony on May 24.
