Interview with Inês Teixeira, director of Shimmering Bodies, first short film, presented at the 62° Semaine de la Critique during the Cannes Film Festival.
Shimmering Bodies: It is always a great emotion to discover new young directors making their cinematic debut, as in the case of Inês Teixeira with her short, in competition at the 62nd Semaine de la Critique, a parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival. Inês was inspired by teenage memories to tell the story of Mariana, a shy teenager who is invited by her friend Jorge to spend a weekend at her house in Leiria. She will discover aspects of herself that she did not know. The director tells us about her first day on set, what she learned making her first film, and how it feels to be in such a significant competition as La Semaine de la Critique.
