PODCAST | Cristiana Palmieri interviews Amin Palangi, Artistic Director of the Persian International Film Festival.
Amin Palangi talks about the festival program that reflects the diversity of the Persian speaking communities spread around the world. He is very proud that the festival this year has a specific focus on women filmmakers and many of the stories told in the films revolve around strong and compelling female characters.
The Persian International Film Festival showcases the best of Iranian cinema and the Persian speaking world in Australia. Founded in 2011, it is a one of a kind festival that showcases films by Persian-speaking filmmakers of Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, and through screenings, master classes and cultural events it celebrates this rich cinematic culture in and with Australian communities. The festival also aims to be a leader in shifting views and misconceptions in Australia by creating spaces for new and alternative voices of Persian-Australians and by being a forum for dialogue between and amongst diverse communities.
