The workshop Accessible cinema: films for all focuses on accessibility for film viewers with sensory impairments. After providing an overview of the legal framework supporting the provision of accessible films, the workshop summarises the main features of traditional (interlingual) subtitling and then on the specific characteristics of subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing (SDH). Finally, the main features of audio-description for the blind and those with low vision are described. The workshop is organized in partnership with Sub-ti.

Annalisa Sandrelli: After teaching at the universities of Hull (UK), Trieste and Bologna (Forlì), in 2008 Annalisa Sandrelli joined the Faculty of Interpreting and Translation of the University of International Studies (UNINT) in Rome, where she is Lecturer in English. Over the years she has taught a variety of modules in Interpreting, Film Language and Audiovisual Translation, Audiodescription and Respeaking. She has published widely on interpreting and audiovisual translation and has given talks and workshops on audiovisual translation in Italy and around the world. She has taken part in several national and international projects funded by the EU (Building Mutual Trust, Qualitas, Understanding Justice). She is a founding member of the Multilingual Eurolect Observatory project and of the LARIM interpreting research group, and she is also a member of the Galician Observatory for Media Accessibility (GALMA). She is currently coordinating two projects on audiovisual translation, DubTalk/TVTalk and SMART2.
