Leo Favier  présente dans la section Venice Classics son documentaire  “Miyazaki: L’esprit de la nature“, dans lequel il analyse les rapports entre le plus grand réalisateur d’animation contemporain et la nature, et son passé personnel. La passion de Leo Favier pour Miyazaki se transforme dans un récit précis et ponctuel, avec les films qui forment le parcours narratif du documentaire.

Pas d’interviews récentes, le passé parle pour lui

Leo Favier a décidé de ne pas tenter de rencontrer Miyazaki: le réalisateur est de plus en plus réticent à donner des interviews. il est préférable d’utiliser celles d’archives et ses films pour raconter l’histoire de sa vie et de son art.

Tout est interconnecté

En réalisant le documentaire, Leo Favier s’est rendu compte à quel point les films de Miyazaki étaient interconnectés et à quel point l’environnement et l’histoire étaient toujours inclus dans la narration, même lorsqu’il s’agissait de mondes fantastiques et inventés.
