Arcangeli parla della difficoltà di interpretare un personaggio che non parla. Preparazione e set. Il rapporto con la natura e l’ambiente patriarcale: un ragazzo intrappolato dentro il proprio destino. Le scelte di un giovane attore di successo.

Il muto di Gallura : Gallura, metà XIX secolo. La faida tra le famiglie Vasa e Mamia – fatto storicamente documentato – insanguina la ragione. Sordomuto dalla nascita, Bastiano Tansu è uno dei suoi protagonisti. Maltrattato ed emarginato fin da bambino, dopo l’assassinio di suo fratello Michele si è unito a uno dei due capi fazione, Pietro Vasa, e ha messo al suo servizio la sua furia e la sua mira prodigiosa, diventando un temutissimo assassino. Lo Stato e la Chiesa cercano di arginare l’ondata di terrore e solo dopo più di 70 morti si arriva alla pace di Aggius. Bastiano trova inizialmente la pace nell’amore per la figlia di un pastore, ma in un mondo violento e superstizioso, che già da bambino lo additava come figlio del demonio, uno come lui non può essere assolto e sceglie così di andare incontro al proprio destino.
