PODCAST | Matt Micucci interviews filmmaker Damjan Kozole, who presented his project Half-Sister at CineLink at the 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival.
Having met filmmaker Damjan Kozole at the 2016 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, where he presented Nightlife, we catch up with him once again. This time, we meet him in the middle of a busy CineLink co-production market, where he presented his next project, Half-Sister.
The synopsis on the CineLink program states that Half-Sister is about: “two estranged half-sisters [whose] relationship [is] marked by their father’s past [who] are forced to move in together,” and that it is “a film about feeling responsible for someone else’s film.” Kozole tells us more about it and also discusses his current interests about strong female characters (and later about why the protagonists of this upcoming film will be half-sisters), the use that he will make of humour in Half-Sister, and more. Given that this is not the first time Kozole attends neither the Sarajevo Film Festival nor its co-production market, we ask him about his experiences here.
Edit: Half-Sister written by Damjan Kozole and Ursa Menart won Eurimages Co-production Development Award at CineLink.
