Terry McMahon – Filmmaker – Patrick’s Day
FRED’s Matt Micucci meets filmmaker TERRY McMAHON, whose film PATRICK‘S DAY was shown at the 59th Cork Film Festival. Terry tells us about constructing a film dealing with schizophrenia by drawing on personal experienced of working in a mental institution, the importance of the performances in his film and how this film has a human depth but also carries an important political metaphor.
PATRICK‘S DAY is a film about a young man with mental health issues who suddenly becomes intimate with a suicidal flight attendant. Upon discovering it, his obsessive mother enlists a dysfunctional cop to separate them.
