Susanne Bier (Director) – A Second Chance
Fred’s Chiara Nicoletti meets director Susanne Bier, at the 32nd Torino Film Fest to present, in the Festa Mobile Section ( A Moveable Feast), her new film A SECOND CHANCE. Susanne Bier chooses to go back at directing in her country Denmark to set the story, written with Anders Thomas Jensen, of Andreas, a young and promising detective who recently became a father. His partner Simon just went through a divorce, and he is really struggling to pull through, binge drinking and picking fights with everyone. When the two detectives are called for a noise complaint, they walk into a world of drugs and violence that forces them to confront some major moral dilemmas. One night Andreas’ newborn son is unexpectedly found dead by his wife. Devastated by the loss of his baby Andreas will make a decision that will inevitably change his own life and his family’s forever.
